How much will I pay?
You’ll get a fixed monthly figure after a free call, based on your actual business. See the pricing page for starting prices. No hourly rates, no surprise invoices.
Do you charge VAT on your fees?
No. Calm Accounts isn’t VAT registered, so there’s no VAT added to my fees.
Can I switch accountants part way through the year?
Yes. I contact your old accountant and handle the handover, so it’s straightforward for you.
Are you qualified and regulated?
Yes. I’m an AAT Licensed Accountant (licence no. 20058990), supervised by the AAT for anti-money laundering, with professional indemnity insurance and ICO registration for data protection.
Do you meet clients in person?
I’m fully remote, so we talk by phone, video call, email or WhatsApp. Most clients find this quicker and easier.
How do I pay?
Ongoing services are billed monthly by Direct Debit. One-off work, such as catching up on old accounts, is agreed as a fixed fee upfront.
Do you only use Xero?
Yes. Calm Accounts is a Xero Partner, I’m a Xero Certified Advisor and I used to work at Xero. It’s the best tool for most small businesses.
What if my business grows?
Your package grows with you. If you need more services, the fee is reviewed fairly and agreed with you first.
Can you help me set up a limited company?
Yes. I can handle the incorporation, Companies House filings and HMRC registrations, and help you decide whether a company makes sense.
Do I need to submit anything to HMRC myself?
No. I file everything with HMRC and Companies House for you. You just send me the records I need.
I’m behind on my accounts. Can you help?
Yes. My catch-up service gets you up to date, no judgement. It’s quoted as a fixed fee before I start.
I’m a CIS subcontractor. Can you get my tax back?
Often, yes. Read how CIS refunds work, or book a free call and I’ll check.
